GW2 Guild Bounty Guild Mission guide

A guide to the GW2 Guild Bounty Guild Mission with maps for Guild Bounty NPCs. Special thanks to Klinkie and Ranth Gearshot of of Immortals Reawakened for the help in compiling the information. Keep in mind that this is a work in process.

2-MULT (Timberline Falls)

  • This defective prototype weather golem has been storming around Timberline Falls. Target needs to be brought in for a software patch.
  • Fight mechanics: Every 25%, 2-MULT will stop, spread his out arm to do to a whirlwind attack that throw lots of sparks out within 1000-1200 range. You need to kill these sparks and then interact with them to throw them back to to 2-MULT to remove his Overlord buff that otherwise makes him immune to damage.

Ander “Wildman” Westward (Southsun Cove)

  • Wanted for illegal trafficking of exotic wildlife. Suspected of attempting to wrangle karka in their island habitat.
  • Ander Wildman Westward is trapped inside a Veteran Karka. This Veteran Karka is unusual as makes a lot of unusual noises and has a speech bubble (see pic below)

gw2-ander-wildman-westward-guild-bountygw2-ander-wildman-westward-guild-bounty-4

Locating Ander “Wildman” Westward isn’t particular hard if you keep two things in mind. Most of the Veteran Karkas are on the area covered by the small circle and that is where I would search first. Stop for a few seconds near every Veteran Karka and see if they make any weird noises or speech bubbles. If you don’t find any weird veteran karaks in that area, you will need to look for a veteran karka on the rest of the island. The rest of the island  isn’t veteran karka’s natural habitat so if you spot a veteran karka outside the small circle there is a very good chance that Ander is trapped inside.

Big Mayana (Sparkfly Fen)

  • This voracious hylek is wanted for questioning about a recent poisoning. Target is thought to have taken refuge in the canopy of Sparkfly Fen.
  • Look for Suspicious Tree around Sparkfly Fen, see map below. Note that the map doesn’t contain all the possible locations. You can interact with the trees but they won’t yield anything until the Guild Bounty with Big Mayana as a target starts.
  • Fight mechanics: It appears Big Mayana will randomly swallow someone within a certain range so do this fight at max range if possible. If you get swallowed, try hit the button with the boot symbol (it will be random everytime) to get out. 5+ players is recommended for this boss.

Sotzz the Scallywag (Gendarran Fields)

  • Wanted for theft, public intoxication, and lewdness. Target is known to “spirit” himself around the region north of Lion’s Arch in stolen barrels of ale.
  • Note: Probably inside suspicious barrels at the marked locations. Check all the barrels at the marked locations below to make sure.
  • Sotzz is immune to damage until you push him out of the alcohol field he created under his feet.
  • As of March 26, if you spawn Sotzz from a suspicious barrel and don’t attack him quick enough, he will despawn and port elsewhere.

gw2-sotzz-the-scallywag-guild-bounty

  • Note that Tricksy Trekksa is disguised as either Weird Wind Rider, Curious Cow, Mysterious Moa, or Peculiar Pig! They all have identical pathing and which one spawns is purely random.

  • This rogue ogre is wanted for spying on and sabotaging various factions vying for control of the Fields of Ruin. Target is notorious for using pet rats to do her dirtiest work.
  • Look for Suspicious Rats found at the locations marked on the map. Note that not all the locations are marked on the map.
  • Fight mechanics: Has lots of powerful rat pets as adds and seem to shadowstep players a lot. May need a large group to tackle her. Use single target attacks on the boss and do not attack any rats as they will attack you when hit.

    – Short-Fuse Felix – (Diessa Plateau)

    – Crusader Michille – (Sparkfly Fen)

    – Bookwork Bhikki – (Lornar’s Pass)

    • Cool, ty for this list. The one you guys might be missing is Ander “Wildman” Westward in Southsun Cove.

      • AdjutantAvocado

To expand on RR’s experimenting, we found several more of the Bounties’ paths. Here is the partial path of Prisoner 1141 from Iron Marches: http://imgur.com/pKZKQA3

He reset (disappeared) twice in a row at the end of that path for the duration that we followed him, and we could not figure out if that’s part of his set path. Between the resets there was a gap of 2 minutes where we couldn’t find him, so we don’t know if the paths loop like the rest of the bounties’ paths.

      • Fleeting Flash from [RR] here.

In regards to Ander, the Veteran Karka that sometimes contains him would sometimes appear in odd places where other Veteran Karkas wouldn’t normally be found. For example, I found this odd Karka like two inches away from the Kiel’s Outpost Waypoint, which generally has no Veterans of any kind near that waypoint. On the next respawn, he was found in the area south of Southsun Shoals and northeast of Driftglass Springs, near the Wind Riders.

Anders has an 8 minute window to fight him starting at the moment you release him from the Veteran Karka. Then he say “Retreat!” and vanish to another location.

What is the best way to kill Half Baked Komali? He has that stupid fire shield that reduces damage to 10%

    • Viszay

I also would like a strat on this guy. My guild tried to kill him with 15+ people, but we couldn’t kill him before the timer ran out.

      • When I killed him with 5-6 people, he wasn’t particularly hard and I ddin’t see any really hard mechanics. I will take a second look though 🙂

        • Renth

There seems some major inbalance going on with the various bosses. Our first one was the guy in brisbane wildlands, which was a relatively hard hitting guy and took a while to be downed. but prisoner 1141, the guy eastwards of shatterer dragon spawn and the guy in charr area (I think the Diessa plateau guy) were downed in a matter of seconds(we were ~25 people) (too fast for some of us to arrive as we started prematurely, thinking they would all be like the first guy in brisbane wildlands. Just something you might want to add, due to time it takes to down or how many players to deploy. Some might actually be killable by two-three people or even solo.

          • Drumoth

We had almost 30 people attacking HBK, and we were unable to kill him.

            • Agony Gaming

I think there are several bounties that have “auras” and you must knock them out of the particular aura.

              • Kaluwain

If you let him stand in his own combo field..he will take next to no dmg. lure him out.

          • Drumoth

Actually guys, I just got word from my guild that the bastard scales ridiculously high. The more people you have, the harder he is to beat. I guess 5 people is the amount that you can have before he starts scaling high.

        • Paladini

Yes I do believe they (bounty npcs) scale by number of players too.

We were killing one with like 5-6ppl wasnt bad at all, when more arrived at the npc, we had like 10… suddenly it became a devil 1HKO… LOL…

You must instruct your guildmate Mesmers and Thieves to steal their boons constantly, guardians to throw AOE stability and walls / mesmer to feedback and TIMEWARP. Makes things better and easier too.

A wellplaced TimeWarp can guarantee success too specially when the clock its ticking so close to the dead line, we beat last npc with like 90secs fight only, and after 10s the timer ended, because feedback and Timewarps.

    • Ibioc

Beat him on Saturday with about 30 people. Took a long time to kill. Since, I’ve heard on reddit that you can get rid of the damage by kiting him to a new area.

    • Ohh that would explain why I spent ages and could never find Tricksy Trekksa and why Weird Wind Rider and Curious Cow have identical pathing and you can only find one up. That solves it, Thank you!

  • Agony Gaming

Does anyone know if Devious Teesa has a clockwise or counter clockwise pathing?

    • Oops forgot to add that. It is actually counter clockwise

  • card5

So you get 2 Guild Commendations for yourself if you help kill one of the bounty targets, even if your guild fails the mission? Can you get more than 2 Commendations per week from Bounty missions?

    • Yes to the first part. Not sure on the second part. I have heard the answer is no.

      • Renth

We did Tier 1 and subsequently T2, which we failed (we didn’t know that the Karka boss could spawn on the whole map but only searched the small circle on the map above, we fools 🙂 ), and nobody, who got credit for the t1 event got anything for the second one, although we downed two of the three bosses. So, I guess it’s a one time thing, at least per day, but I guess also per week. And it’s also accountbound, not characterbound, as many of our players switched characters due to incomplete world completion.

        • Paladini

If you got credit and earned 2 G.C (commendations) you already reached personal week cap. Each guildmate can earn 2 GC per week doing Bounty, your free to do how many times you desire, but the prize has a cap.

      • Datrina

Guys from one guild on my server have 4 commendations. Did any of the patches accidentaly reset commendations weekly cap?

  • Renth

Addition to Brekkabek: I was on duty to find him today and realized that he didn’t follow the northern part of the trail as indicated on the map. He always turned at the wooden bridge in the north of the village on the west bank of Arca Lake and only followed the southern loop. (Maybe he just respawns in the north after he has been killed?) Every time I let him come to this village he just turned and took the southern slope again. So it’s probably best to first look in the south.

    • Cool thanks, added a note to it

  • Sannosuke

tricky trickster in blazeridge can als be a “mysterious moa”

    • I see a pattern haha

  • Renth

A thing that you might want to add: All targets for each bounty hunt are visible at once, once you start the event. You don’t have to kill the first one to get the name of the second one (which was, how I thought it would work…the way it works and with only 15 bosses it’s rather easy 🙂 )

    • Agony Gaming

I agree, we downed all 3 tiers easily with 20 min of preparation beforehand.

Possibly helpful tip: once you locate a bounty target and before you actually trigger the bounty, you can interact with the NPC repeatedly to keep him stationary, preferably near a waypoint and out of any active map events, to make it easier for other players to get there.

    • Only if you wish have do tier 3. It isn’t necessary but it helps alot since you only have 15 minutes to track down and kill 6 bounty NPCs. Wasting that 15 minutes in finding NPCs isn’t exactly wise.

Just in case you would like to include that, Bookworm Bwikki is immune to normal damage and can only be damaged by conditions (which she can remove really easy and fast). Also Half-Baked Komali is immune to any condition damage and he is really tanky. I got information on the other named NPCs aswell but these two are most improtant for me (Funny enough Brekkabek throws poisonous bears 😀 )

    • Kyne

I was able to do direct damage to Bwikki as long as I myself had no conditions on me.

  • Kyne

Free of Fate fought Bookworm Bwikki in Lornar’s Pass last night. It seems like you can’t do damage to him if you have a condition on you. It may be just the freeze that is preventing damage but for me I didn’t do any damage unless I was completely clean.

  • we found tricksy trekksa off her mapped path to the west of the brand, her mapped path only shows her on the east. We had spent about 30 min with 14 people looking on the east side of the brand following her path backwards so as to run into her, everyone spread out and never was able to find her. then someone checked the other side and there she was, im not sure if she walked there or spawned on that or not but heres 2 screen shots showing where she was.

Hey Dulfy! I’ve been tracking down Prisoner 1141 for my guild during bounties, and today I found and mapped out a third possible variant to his route for you: http://i.imgur.com/JLFIxWS.jpg

    • Thank you! I overlayed your path onto the two other paths. He must have being a pain to track down heh

      • Aelineus

Hello again! This week my guild decided to try out tier 3, and so I had to track this guy down for a fair amount of time. I’ve added a couple new paths onto my original map, and I currently have a theory that he has certain “checkpoints” that, once he reaches them, will cause him to randomly choose a specific path to take. You’ll see on my new map that there was a place that he looped 4 times in a row, and was actually looping again while we were fighting him. At this point I’m not sure how to map it anymore, and so that is why the lines on the map are pretty rough.

        • Aelineus

Whoops forgot to add the map. http://i.imgur.com/NDZZ4CO.jpg

        • Hey, I took a look at the new map you created and it seems like the map I have right now covered most of the paths you outlined. The looping isn’t much of an issue as long players know which sections of the map to check. Gotta say though, Prisoner 1411, Sotzz, and Tricksy Tressa are a pain to track down!

Here is the BURN gaming communities Sotzz location guide. This is probably the best map you will ever find and I am pretty sure that almost every single location is on this picture. If I find new locations Ill update it accordingly.

Note: There is not three hundred red dots on the map. The reason for this is because some of the barrels stack up on each and so some locations can have 1-3 barrels.

    • thanks I added it in

3new bosses: We have 1 – Big Mayana in Sparkly Fen

  • Agony Gaming

    2-Mult Pathing, Clockwise. http://i.imgur.com/hwGFuX1.jpg
Checked the other two new bounties and it may be that they spawn like Sotzz. Found “Suspicious Trees” for Mayana and “Suspicious Rats” for Yanonka. It was said that those two cant be pre scouted so I assume that they will spawn at a random suspicious location once the bounty starts. Again, thats only an assumption. Will be doing bounties tonight and see what information that reveals.

  • Grey [DVDF]

Locations for “Suspicious Trees” and “Suspicious Rats”. The trees don’t seem to share a common model, and are spread widely across the map. Having checked across multiple servers though, they do seem set, not random.

The Suspicious Rats do seem to be located primarily in camps, smaller camps have just 1 and larger camps have more.

We tried a couple of guild missions this evening, but didn’t get any of the new bosses, so unfortunately can’t say how they actually spawn. However, I hope that the location maps below might be helpful once we know how the spawn mechanics work.

    • Grey [DVDF]

Just to clarify, the first map (Sparkfly Fen) is for Suspicious Trees, and the second map (Fields of Ruin) is for Suspicious Rats 😀

      • thank you, I combined your Big Mayana map with another map someone else created to pool all the locations together.

  • Guest

Sent you a comment on the bounty guide with the pathing map for 2-MULT

  • Agony Gaming

It appears that 2-MULT has a mechanic at every 25% that can wipe an entire group if not careful. He will stop, spread his arms out and whirlwind and sling lots of sparks out within 1000-1200 range. Need to kill the sparks and interact with the sparks and throw them back at 2-MULT to remove his Overload buff so that damage can be done to him once again. Repeat every 25%.

  • Agony Gaming

Also did Mayana, seems like she will randomly eat someone within a certain range so its better to stay max range if possible.

  • Agony Gaming

Big Mayana and Yanonka do spawn at their respective suspicious locations. However, when you actually interact with the suspicious trees or the rats the option to search for them isnt available until a guild mission starts. Then you run around and “kick” the suspicious trees until Mayana falls out. Id expect the suspicious rats are pretty much the same way.,

  • Megiddo Z O

Hey Dulfy, Here’s an image of the NPC info of Yanonka: http://imgur.com/CXurB7N

She has alot of powerful pet rats as adds and seems to shadowstep to people alot. We had a tough time with ~5-7 people.

    • cool, thank you for the info 🙂

  • Jofin

Yanonka – her pet rats only attack if you hit them – so use single-target attacks on the boss only.

  • Jeffywan

Yanonka the Rat-Wrangler has 3 possible spawn points in the North East corner in Tanglerot Hills that are not on the map

    • Okay, got a map with these locations so i can add them? 😀

CIA ran guild bounty this evening, and found Yanonka the Rat-Wrangler in Fields of Ruin right under where it says “The Siege Plains” on the map. I noticed this location wasn’t noted in this guide so I thought I’d give a heads up.

New Info for For Big Mayana, with the sequence where boss leaps, someone must hold a poison pot and try to get eaten, Once eaten, one of the skills between 1-5 becomes an explosion, where he spits you out and damages himself

  • Dee

Great work as always! Would it be possible to colour code the Bounty NPC names & Pathing Map Availability in green, yellow, red to indicate easy, medium, hard difficulty levels for finding/killing the Bounty NPC’s?

  • Arahs

Hi, if my guild make first bounty t2 after bounty t1, we will get 20 or 25 merists?

  • Shargonia (LE Guild Dzagonur)

Something to add for Big Mayana: The boss spawns pots of posion from time to time. Pick one up and try to get swallowed – then try to hit the explosion button. You will do a lot of damage with this method

  • deathret

Not a big deal, but I believe it is Iron Marches, not Marshes.

    Addition to Tricky Trekksa:

I can confirm that she sometimes does a separate path west of the brand. Not certain I got the entire path; looks like she simply spawns in the north and disappears once she reaches the brand in the south. I’ll check on her again later to confirm, will post if there are any changes.

I have seen her as a cow multiple times on this western path.

    Sotzz the Scallywag tip:

Push him into water, he will stop doing the field that makes him invincible and the fight will be really easy.

Tricksy Trekksa got a new Route, we got her a little south of [Kindling Waypoint] (north west waypoint)

Bookworm Bwikki has been taking a different path for awhile… Here’s our guild’s map for him. His path was updated in the Winterthaw Snowfield/False River Valley areas during the Season 1 Living World stuff was going on.

You may want to put flags on the bosses that are currently bugged, if possible. My guild uses this guide every time we do Guild Bounty as it is extremely well done and helpful. We are on the smaller side and recently encountered the Half-Baked Kamali bug where it doesn’t spawn the fire slug things that remove it’s shield making it impossible for us to do. It’s a known bug according to the wiki but it was our first time running into this particular boss so we weren’t expecting it.

You might need to add this to poobadoo’s info.

So, our small guild has been doing the Tier 1 (easy) missions for about 6 months now, and we have only had to fight Brekabrek, Poopadoo, and Trilla. We are now moving to Tier 2 (medium). Any insights on who to expect in Tier 2?

  • bigo93

Had to find Poobadoo and couldnt find him.

Have they changed his route? as the guild missions description now says
Wanted in connection with multiple harassment and public nuisance complaints. Last seen pestering tengu merchants at their trading post, though target may have moved elsewhere in the region.

So wonder what other routes need updating as well.
