SWTOR All Cartel Market Packs 33-40% OFF

SWTOR is doing a sale on all the cartel market packs at 33% for single packs and 40% off for hypercrates.

Single Packs are 33% OFF (200 CC each), Hypercrate are 40% OFF (4320 CC each). This includes everything from Crime Lord’s Cartel Pack all the way to the recent Wild Space’s Explorer Pack.

The sale will end on October 20, with early access of Fallen Empire

Well that should hopefully mean that the server monitor will drop in price a bit, I need a couple more and 2.5million a piece is a bit steep even though I’m moderately credit rich.

  Also if you go to the legacy and see reputations, you can read the shipments they are from in their description. Well, most of them have that info except the Bounty Resupply Company but as the name suggests, it’s from the bounty packs.

  It’s not all the packs. They missed the ‘cheap’ pack out of every shipment. Regulator’s Contraband, Contractor’s Bounty, Wingman’s Starfighter, Builder’s Stronghold, Initiate’s Shadow, and Core World Explorer packs weren’t included.

    Those clearly weren’t our favorites, especially since they had the same things as the non-cheap packs.

      Not all the same. They had some stuff unavailable in other packs- certain titles like Regulator and Contractor were only available from Regulator or Contractor packs and other things too. They said “all packs”, and missing out on 6 is not all. (I feel like I’m quoting Julius Caesar- “All Gaul is occupied o Caesar!” “All?” “ALL!”).

  Nope you were wrong still. All the first Cartel packs from every shipment is missing for some weird reason except the nightlife shipment. Weird.

  I was wondering the same thing. Is this a last big hurrah before these packs are retired as we know them? Or is it a huge exploitive waste of CC because all the best items from these packs will be easier to obtain. hmmm

    We can’t really know that until(if) we find out the maths on drop rates from the new amalgamated category packs, but a logical examination of the facts as we know them now don’t give me much hope anything is going to be easier to get in future.
    
    1. If you want a piece of armour, as an example, you will now be rolling against literally every other box of armour pieces ever released in a pack, plus the ones they remove from direct sale, and we have no reason to expect they’re going to stop splitting sets up into multiple boxes all with different rarities. That’s a much larger “pool” of stuff to dive into than a single pack/consignment, and the odds will only get worse as time goes on and new items are added.
    
    2. Given the primary purpose of the CM is to extract as much money as possible from us, and given these changes are being presented as being a positive change being made for *our* benefit, the likelihood is in fact the exact opposite. I’d lay odds that the drop rates will either stay the same(which means functionally they will be worse, see point 1), or get even more miserly(and so functionally are being double-nerfed, again see point 1).
    
    I’d say if you have some spare CC lying about, spend them now, first on things currently on direct-sale you want, then on discounted packs, and keep them. Either the new system will turn out to be a way to even further screw us, in which case those packs will be worth a fortune in credits, or things will remain roughly the same, in which case you’ve lost nothing and can open/sell the packs as you normally would. Me personally, I will not be buying any CC to take advantage of this “offer”, because I don’t want to reward EA for what is, I suspect, an attempt to make the RNG even less favourable to customers.

      It’s more than obvious — Bioware wants you to spend your Complimentary CC you get all the way up from realese. And then you’ll need to donate some more for your new lvl-60-characters! It’s for reducing the amount of auto-60-noobs, you’ll see it.
      
      After the patch nerds will cry on the Fleet that they wasted their CC on this generous sales!

  I have a vague feeling that this discount might not be purely due to the fact that they’re finally bringing back old packs.
  
  Due to the reduced items in the packs come 4.0, there might be a price reduction to go along with that.

To all resellers: Be as generous as Bioware is with this deal. Don’t rip us off in the GTN, it’s the only way some people can get this stuff.

  I sell direct as much as I can, if you post stuff on the GTN for a “reasonable” price, it gets scooped up and resold. Ask in fleet or on stronghold worlds for stuff you want. Be patient, be polite, and you will probably find a seller who isn’t looking to empty your wallet.

  the fact that every pack is on the market and they are up to 40 pct off means that all prices will go down. most likely the really expensive gears will get the biggest price cuts because a lot of ppl will buy the packs to get those gears meaning there will be more competition when trying to sell them and that means lower prices.
  
  it is entirely possible that a piece of gear like sateles boots which generally goes for 15 mill will go down to 8-10 mill so if you are going to buy gears with creds now is the time. what you really have to worry about tho is hoarders. if every one waits to sell the gears until they go up again you wont have as much competition and the prices wont go down as much.
  
  my advice for people who want max savings is to wait 3-4 days and then buy the gear. for people who want to make the most money either sell the gear the second it gets unlocked or hoard all the realy expensive gear for about a month or 2.

Opened two Star Cluster crates, got all the Tulak Hord pieces I still needed to unlock (head, chest, bracers, belt, pants), most of the Xoxaan (sp) set, the dye I wanted, and enough Irakie Vultures to start a formidable swoop gang. Let’s see what else looks good…
