PTS – Things to Come | 07.13.2018, 09:32 PM

Hey folks,

As I mentioned in the changes thread, there are some changes that didn’t make their way into the build today that we are still looking at. Note that this is not a comprehensive list of everything! These are just some of the bigger things we would still like to change before 5.9.2 ships.

  • The ability to sort your Stronghold list.
  • Get resolve bars to show on portraits in the Rishi SH.
  • The ability for players to completely turn off PvP in their Rishi SH.
  • Make it so that SH keys determine players ability to use terminals in another players SH.
  • Address the remaining LoS issues for decorations, especially related to channeled and AoE abilities.

Again, that is not everything but are some of the issues we are still actively working on. Thanks everyone, keep the feedback coming.

  • Fubarz

    LOL!!!

  • Adam Haynes

The ability to sort SH lists?!? And here I was about to cancel my sub!

  • CrumpetTrumpet

Oh good, now my main SH will no longer be relegated to the second page.

  • Risqu’e

“The ability to sort your Stronghold list.”

Sadly, this is one of the best things they’ve announced this year.

    • Amodin

You forget, it will still probably cost Cartel Coins to do this.
They need a grab, may as well continue with the only thing they know.

    • Jonathan Parker

Still no hood toggle for Jedi and Sith armor, though. Been waiting five years for that simple change.

      • EyesOfGehenna .

Perhaps it’s not as simple as you pretend it to be. From what I know from BioWare, simple things they can score with would be rather their favourite things. So if BioWare doesn’t do it, it’s gotta be more complicated, well at least for that engine of theirs.

        • Jonathan Parker

It’s not that simple? Bullshit. We see the same armor sets scattered throughout the game (some with hoods, some without), most of the pre-expansion ones based on the exact same default robe item model, and we also see versions with the hood down sold as part of the Cartel Market or in packs. They figured out they could make a buck with it instead of adding a simple, free feature that people have been asking for since day one. Nothing complicated about it.

          • EyesOfGehenna .

Well the point the the armour exists with and without hood doesn’t mean a toggle is easy to implement. Now I don’t say that you’re wrong about BW wanting to make a buck, but I also don’t assume anything’s easy for them to do because I think the game just hangs together with the digital versions of pieces of string and duct tape.

Bottom line, as long as I’m not an actual programmer with experience or knowledge about their game engine, I’m not going to make assumptions that something is easy to do.

Now regardless of whether it’s simple or not, clearly they haven’t done it over the years, so I do have to wonder why you’re still trying when clearly you already realize that it’s not going to happen…whatever the reason. If it is just about the money, you know they need that more now than ever before just to keep the boat from sinking.

            • Jonathan Parker

I keep insisting on it because it’s a clear piece of proof that certain things the players want go completely unnoticed or ignored, even though they’re so simple. It’s been over five years since the game came out, that was one of the first cosmetic features players asked for, and we’ve heard nothing about it ever since. They’ve said it’s on their list of things to do before, and yet we don’t get it in any update. Plus, with this game becoming a tidal wave of Cartel Market “content” there’s not much else to talk about besides Bioware cashing this game in for all its worth.

        • Rompe Himself

I don’t profess to know how complicated or easy it is, but surely it is doable at the very least. Look how any armor in the game with a hood, becomes hood less if your character is a Twi’lek. The ability is there, the intention and desire from BW Austin however isn’t. Then again, there is a certain level of foolishness in hoping BW Austin adds this feature after all these years (especially considering the state of the game and its population numbers), when there are bugs years old that still are not addressed, like the infamous 4.0 companion gift bug. *shrug*

    • Robert Rene Dibello

They ought to just market this change alone as 6.0…

    • Tony

am I crazy or did they used to release way more story line material way more frequently

  • Ben Gimson

“The ability for players to completely turn off PvP in their Rishi SH.”

    Splendid 😀

  • Jonathan Parker

You can almost hear the development team losing members.

        • Zasz

          Tried the CD drive yet?

    • Valis

Funny you mentioned that, as James Ohlen just left BioWare.

  • VKing

“The ability to sort your Stronghold list.”
I am ignoring ESO and new raid, screw Battle for Azeroth, I am subbing to SWTOR just for that!

    • Fred Garvin

      [OP is Fred G]

  • Fubarz
  • Gratua Cuun

“The ability to sort your Stronghold list.”

Wow… you wouldn’t think something that simple would provide such a big advantage over most MMOs with housing lol

  • Buddyfrog1

    LOL!!!

  • Reverend Smiley

“New content” is a PvP map and a house.

Looks like I’ll be going into my 3rd year not playing this game. Wow what a shame. This game used to be so much fun.

  • Zeus

    • Dr. Mike Wendell

It’s as simple as a bot doing a copy and paste. 🙂

Folks, please report the bot. Thanks.

    • Rompe Himself

      Filthy bot!!
