  • Game Update 5.9.2 marks the end of Season 9 of Ranked Arenas! Please refer to our Season 9 Ranked PvP Rewards Blog for details.
  • Corrected an issue where a player could change their Class Specialization before accepting a Ranked Arena queue.

  • All Warzone and Starfighter queues are now cross-faction.
  • Multiple Warzone scoreboards have had their colors updated to more clearly represent cross-faction teams.
  • The Unranked Warzone queue will now always prioritize Warzones over Arenas. An Arena match will only pop if there are not enough players to populate a full Warzone match at that time.
  • Under typical conditions, matchmaking will try not to place more than two tanks or healers on the same team in a Warzone or one tank or healer for an Arena.
  • Matchmaking will always do its best to balance the number of tanks and healers on each team. If there are two healers, each team will receive one if possible; the same is true of tanks.
    • In situations where there are an odd number of tanks / healers, matchmaking will do its best to place the combined number of tanks and healers evenly (example: there are three healers and one tank, matchmaking will attempt to make the teams two healers vs one tank and one healer).
  • Matchmaking will more strongly take player skill into account when making teams.
  • Premade groups queuing for Ranked and Unranked Warzones and GSF will now have their matchmaking skill based on the highest rated member, not the team’s average rating.
  • Galactic Starfighter matchmaking has been improved to better account for player experience along with their currently selected ship loadout.
  • The damage, healing, and defense targets have been updated to earn Warzone Medals:
    • Combatant – 500,000 Damage Dealt (up from 240,000)

Huttball

  • Giradda the Hutt will become bored of a single ball carrier and kill them after 45 seconds (down from 120 seconds).
  • To win before time expires, the winning team will need to score 10 times (up from 6).
  • Giradda the Hutt will now take mercy on losers. If a team is losing by 6 points, the match will immediately end.
  • Huttball match time is now 10 minutes (down from 13).
  • Players can no longer catch the Huttball while stunned.
  • Receiving the Huttball will now award 250 attacker points.
  • Throwing and Receiving a touchdown pass in Huttball will now equally award both players:
    • Thrower: 2750 Attacker Points total
      • 500 Attacker Points from completing a pass successfully
      • 2250 Attacker Points for throwing a scoring pass
    • Receiver: 2750 Attacker Points total

  • When players die, they reduce their team’s score by 2 (up from 0).
  • Ben Gimson

“Players can no longer catch the Huttball while stunned.”

I like pretty much everything apart from this. It’s hard enough getting people to pass the fucking ball, now stuns will void it? Not a good decision 🙁

    • AbnerDoon

I sometimes think the majority of players don’t even know there’s a ball in that mode. Seems to usually be 75% of both teams on the middle platform duking it out.

But I agree that can render someone up top to pass it to useless. Have to have full resolve to stand by the edge.

    • deletebioware.exe

      I agree!

It would be better if they made some rooting abilities useful again in Huttball, like legshot.

    • branky

Its a stun Ben… how can u catch anything if u r stunned? that doesnt make sense..,so good fix imo. given the fact that passing has become more rewarding in huttball i think ur argument will shrink comming week and u will be getting more passes than u can handle 😛

      • Ben Gimson

How can you reappear at the start of the map after being killed by someone? Or burnt to death in a fire trap? That logic falls apart pretty quickly.

This is a bad change. Period. If the new matchmaking system works out well and balances teams, we’re going to see way too many 0 – 0 results now that passing can be easily negated.

        • gua543

Sorry, can’t agree with you. Too many premades just have a stealther camp at the touchdown zone of the other team. If anything, it will make you plan ahead towards who you want to pass.

          • Ben Gimson

It’s impossible to plan ahead regarding stuns. Are you going to target all your team mates one by one to check their resolve bar? Just add in a system that removes/prevents stealth on the enemy start area and voila, no more stealther camping.

  • Vincent van der Laan

What about the fix of the nathema statue,s ?

  • Teddybomber87

LoL die on yavin and your team will suck.
Healers will be the most hated players in that mode.

  • Zasz

“The Stronghold Interface list will now be sorted with the most recently logged into Stronghold showing at the top.”

WHY?? I already hate it for my character login screen. There is no order in that system!! Just let us decide the order and it will be perfect!

  • Roksik

“The body color for female Cathar will now match the selected head fur color as intended.”
HOLY KRIFF, HALLELUJAH! I’ve been waiting for this for years!!!

  • Jep Fareborn

Gee. I wonder what new prefab ‘garbage’ stronghold decorations will be available this time? Must not be spectacular if unable to sell on Cartel Market ;p Couldn’t be any worse or boring than the Conquest vendor decorations. I will edit this post if I am pleasantly surprised or dazzled – or reply by thinking they are utter $#!+

    • Jep Fareborn

      Update: It’s worse.

      • Risqu’e

        “Update: It’s worse.”
        Bioware’s mission statement right there.

  • Stan Prins

Its a stun Ben… how can u catch anything if u r stunned? that doesnt make sense..,so good fix imo. given the fact that passing has become more rewarding in huttball i think ur argument will shrink comming week and u will be getting more passes than u can handle 😛

    • Darth Ji’inx

Looks like the bot got the upvote instead of the original…smh…

      [Hail Lord Ji’inx]

  • All Warzone and Starfighter queues are now cross-faction. Well it took you long enough. Now I can kill people without having to play on multiple servers. Much appreciated.

    • Tony

what happens if you hate pvp? hell with you then?

      • LoL no but TBH most of the updates are quality of life things that should have been implemented.

      • Nah it’s just something to keep the queues filled and tbh some of the current faction players on the Imperial just dumb as hell. Most the updates favor PVE so we (All around players) appreciate the update.

  • Like NO ONE even notices the promised companions did not come with this patch. No Scourge, No Jaesa and No Kira.

  • Tesla

I have more than 50 CM certificates from before, an Legend in all cartel reputation. And now you say it is garbage and combine all into one. No extra notthing I get the title, fuck this game.

  • Eric Nelson

Are Madness/Lightning Sorcs still on the bottom of the DPS tier list?
